My new Baby

Oh the possibilites..... But first I need to find a semi-permanent home for my new toy other than the ubiquitous "floor", and then I can get cutting into the piles of cotton flannel, velvet and odd brown stuff I bought this weekend :o) I am a little over-excited :o) This much giddiness has not been seen for some time :o)

YAY!!!

Woofers

One doodle, one Saturday morning, and one slightly wonky little woofer. This was all handmade using white cotton fleece, vintage buttons and a scrap of ribbon. Can't wait for that sewing machine!!

Red Dog

My first softie from my first Japanese Craft book Aww, it's a special moment...

Once I have the sewing machine, this will take about five minutes instead of three hours. Roll on Sunday :) And when I learn to take pictures that are actually in focus, I will inherit the earth.

Tree Shawl

I like to dress my plants, even the fake ones. I'm not really sure where this is going. I had the idea of making wide scarf/thin shawl from this shiny cotton yarn, but it's really not doing it for me. I'm not one who relishes frogging, and it took me two hours to settle on this stitch for this yarn, but I have no love for it. Hmmm...

OK, so I may just be a little bit addicted to the doll patterns....

I ran out of polyfil again! I swear I'm keeping the entire New York polyfil industry in business, the amount of this stuff I go through is rediculous. This last batch managed two monkeys, a dog, two bears and two jellybabies. I demand more!!!

Exhibitionist (Postcard Swap)

Since no one ever stops by to look at this blog *sob* I'm trying to expose myself. Ha...

I joined up the postcard swap being hosted by my little moochi. The theme is New Year Dogs and these are my first six patches for the postcards. I have four more to go, but I'm fast becoming enamoured with appliqued scotty dogs. One day when I have both a sewing machine and oodles of time, I'd love to make a quit out of these little patches. Oh well, a girl can dream.

Spawn of the Hook

So I was thinking.... what would this bear look like crocheted?. And then I became obssesed with creating a hooker version of this bear and I could not stop. Fairly obviously the gague went WAAAAY off, and I'm not even sure I like it as much as the knitted. But my itch has been scratched and I can put this pattern away for a while.

Stuffed

So it's getting there..... slowly......

Last time I went to my favourite store, they were out of polyfil and I was in desperate need of monkey stuffing, so I bought batting instead and have been tearing it up to stuff all the little buggers. It takes forever and wont be an experiment I'll be repeating.

I think this guy shall be a bear, and I shall be starting an Etsy store for my creations. Mwhahahahaaa.

And tomorrow I stuff

Who knew an unstuffed softie could so resemble a be-scarfed haggis? I'm still not sure exactly what creature this will become, although I'm pretty sure it's not going to be a phallic elephant (I already have enough trouble with people misappropriating monkey tails as third legs!).

Note the little clicker thingy.... God's gift to the inattentive knitter :)

Bum Doggity

2006 is the year of the dog after all....

This cute sock-dog pattern was from Naive Knits, although I think I mucked the face up a little ending up with some kind of mouse/dog hybrid with the word bum emblazened across its little body. But, am I bovered? No, not really. I'm trying to bring diversity to the sock monkey charity world so we'll see how this little chap goes down next meet.
