There are many reasons why we stash yarn. to make ourselves feel better, because we just couldn't resist that sale, or just plain because. I like to think that I stash yarn specifically so that when I attend a Sit n' Knit
meetup and I casually mention to
Tawana that I'd like to get a hold of a copy of the
Central Park Hoodie pattern which she then hands me there and then.... it means I can immediately go home and cast on for a sweater I've been
coveting for a while. Thank you
Tawana :)

It has been noted by some Sit n' Knit members that I'm somewhat of a turbo knitter, cranking out sweaters at break-neck speed. Never one to disappoint let me tell you that I cast on for this on Friday night at 6pm and that there was an almost completed right front before I realised I had forgotten to go up a needle size after the ribbing. I blame The Exorcist for distracting me. Rip, rip, head twist, rip and I'm back to the ribbing again. Next time I'm douse it in holy water.
Seriously, you have extra fingers or something.
ReplyDeleteI wanna knit like you when I grow up.
ReplyDeleteIs it just me or did you do something to the blog? For some reason it seems rather bright.
You really are a speed knitter. I wish I had the knitting mojo to take on the CPH, I love it but I know I don't have the skillz...yet
ReplyDeleteyou aren't real. you aren't. do you knit in your sleep? in the shower? you use mirrors or there's a spring in the table or something...
ReplyDeleteI have no extra fingers, tricks of light or magic. I just sit on my bum when it's rainy out a knitknitknit until my hands fall off :)
ReplyDeleteDebbie, honestly CPH is really simple it just looks impressive. It's the most basic six cable cross inbetween a lot of stockinette. I learnt to cable by googling "Cabling for Dummies", and if this dummy can do it then so can you!
As for the sweater, it now has a front and a third of a sleeve....
You are so going to finish this sweater before I do. But my head has been turned by the pretty sight of ripples that I am doing. I am going to work on my sweater when I go visit my sister. Hopefully I will get work done on it then. Your sweater is looking pretty.
ReplyDeleteOh the anonymous is me. (A slip of the finger)
