This week I have mostly been going through the five (six? seven?) stages of grief over losing my apartment. And I've been spending a whole heap of time just thinking thinking thinking about my thesis proposal. This meant my hands were in need of distraction while I lived in my head for a while. Hence, sweater back.
Incidentally, on Friday night after drinks in the bar and a rather large lychee martini at a Thai place, a few of my friends came back to my apartment for, um more drinks. I've made myself a nice little nest in the living room with my blankies on one side and my knitting junk on the coffee table on the other. Anyway one of my males friends picked up my latest swatch, put it on his knee and left it there for the entire two hours we were hanging out, idly petting it every now and again. All without saying a word. I almost asked him if he wanted to take it home. It was a little odd to see someone interact with my knitting that way, I can't say it's ever happened before!
It really sucks that you have to move, and that you're doing a thesis at the same time! Talk about uneeded stress. I hope an even better place comes up- I'll keep my fingers crossed!

I'm so sorry you have to move! I like your "ugly blocking picture" - the variegation is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThat is entertaining that your friend was so interested in your swatch : )
I must read more about why you have moved out...
ReplyDeleteI love the story about the petting of your swatch, it's sort of ...nice, isn't it. Thanks for the comments my blog. Does this 'misplaced pom'mean you are from the UK?
