Anne-Marie, the fearless leader of Sit 'n' Knit New York, organised a fabulous neckwarmer swap that took place this past weekend in Central Park. My giftee was Kristina, who had requested a jewel toned cowl and suggested a couple of pattern ideas. I riffed off that and came up with this:

Pattern: Good Luck Cowl by Drop Stitch Knitter.
Yarn & Needles: Fearless Fibers Midnight Passion (look up if it looks familiar, yes, up there on the banner) on US5s.
Modifications: I knit and knit and knit hoping I'd get to the end of the yarn before I ended up with a cowl that would suit a giraffe, but in the end I couldn't use it all up and still ended up with a fairly long cowl. I think, in the end, the extra length was just what the cowl needed since the yarn was a little thinner than fingering.
I return I was gifted an utterly fabulous cowl from Minty!
Smiles all round :)

what an awesome idea! it sounds like a lot of fun. i am still on the fence about cowls in general, but maybe i should just knit one and see how i feel :)
