Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No! It's orange tie-die parachuting monkey!!
I'm thinking of branching out into custom made monkeys. This little guy was created at the request of a fellow Etsy-er for her adrenaline loving, skydiving brother's birthday. He was a blast to make and I hope it's what she wanted! I also recently made another themed (and totally awesome) monkey for the Reverend's birthday next week and I think this is something I could run with.
If you could have a monkey designed after you, would you do it?
I don't know if I'm exciting enough to have a monkey designed for me! But I love the tiedye. did you td the socks, or the monkey after it was put together?
ReplyDeleteI originally started with an orange sock that I wrapped up with elastic bands and bleached to get the yellow colour. After it had dried I wrapped it all up again and dipped in red food colouring (I had pink fingers for days despite using chopsticks!). I think the tie-die was a huge part of the fun. Normally I let the sock take me in which ever direction it likes but this time I showed the sock who was boss!
